Dublin is a vibrant and inspirational city eager to extend a warm welcome to the delegates of ICUC8. The Irish capital is compact and easily walkable, offering an unbeatable combination of world renowned warmth and hospitality and a wide range of exciting activities.

Dublin is officially known in Irish as Baile Átha Cliath (pronounced Ballya –Aha-Clia) the English translation of Dublin from the Irish Dubh Linn meaning “black pool”. The city, originally founded as a Viking settlement, has gone through many transitions with a rich historical past. Dublin is the 2012 European City of Science. 

There are many sights to see while exploring the city – from museums, galleries, shops, restaurants and bars.  Dublin has a lot to offer her visitors!

 

Venue: University College Dublin

 

The ICUC8 Conference will take place at University College Dublin (UCD).

 

UCD campus is modern and vibrant, whose 11 faculties cater for an overall student population of 22,000.

 

The University has a rich history, dating from 1855 when it first opened its doors through the Catholic University Medical School.  It has been located at Belfield since 1969, and ICUC8 will take place in O’Reilly Hall and the Health Sciences Centre.
